Mildly entertaining story, but a bit too preachy for my taste. My bad for not paying attention to the ISBN label that says "Christian/Romance/Historical"

Very excellent. So many twists. This was the second time I read the first 2 books, and I'm anxious to find the 3rd.

Very cute and despite it being an adaptation it wasn't as predictable as expected. A very sweet read.

A very fun take on the genre and Murderbot is a fantasticly sarcastic unreliable narrator.

The House Of Broken Angels
by Luis Alberto Urrea

book cover

In an author’s note, Urrea states: “while the book is not 100% true, it is perhaps 95% true.” The author writes what he knows and this book is a poignant, profound and compelling story of family. Although the book is about a large Mexican-American family, its themes are universal. I particularly enjoyed the vivid description of characters, settings and scenes. The evocative language readily evoked vibrant imagery i.e ‘All of Big Angel’s pill bottles were on the bedside table, within reach, looking like a model of a futuristic city.’

Hard but amazing read! Everyone is fighting their own battle. We should be kind and caring with every person, especially children and teenagers who cross our paths.
